5      Gateway Club meeting. 7 pm. Doors open 6:30pm. Presentation will be on “Heirarchy of Park Hunting: Who Do You Call?” by Susannah Kriegshauser.

MARCH

5      Gateway Club meeting. 7 pm. Doors open 6:30pm. Presentation by writer Mark Leach, “Ancient Pyramids of St. Louis”, about the Cahokia Mounds Indians. He will have his books for sale for autographing.

16    MYSTERY HUNT!       MUST be a member as of the February meeting or one week before the hunt. We will NOT accept any memberships the day of.

Time to meet at casino parking lot is 9:15am. We will leave for our destination at 9:30am.

We will meet at the Alton Belle/Argosy casino at the downtown riverfront in Alton, Illinois.  Meet at the rear of the main lot by the ORANGE bus stop. There you will receive directions to the hunt site. If you need a bathroom or a coffee, the casino is open.

We always ask that you wear your club shirt which helps us see you on a hunt, and promotes the club too.

APRIL

2      Gateway Club meeting. 7 pm. Doors open 6:30pm. Talk given by Mark Trout, MCWM director, on identifying CW ordinance.

6      American Battlefield Trust Park Day cleanup .   Time 10am. MO Civil War Museum, 222 Worth Rd., 63125.

Wear your GMDC shirt and bring anything you would use to do upkeep on your lawn–rakes, trowels, brooms, dustpans, trimmers, shovels, wheelbarrows, blowers. Be sure to bring eye and ear protection, and gloves.

13    MYSTERY HUNT! 10:00am-?    MUST be a club member as of April meeting. 

You MUST register for this hunt. Please send an email to register. Must receive your registration before April 2.

This hunt is in Rolla.

All day hunt–please bring food and drinks. Part of the area will be woods—bring boots and tick spray.

The owner requests the GENEVIEVE METHOD. This is the reason why we got the hunt. Please be courteous and present all finds, and all trash, for inspection. Please take pictures of your finds in case the owner wants to keep any of your finds. If he does keep any (he didn’t last year), they will be put in the Wilson’s Creek Battlefield Museum.

We will meet at 10:00am at the owner’s location which will only be sent via email to those who have registered and are current club members. This location is incorrect in the GPS. Only the directions you receive via email will be correct. We will then hand out directions to our FINAL DESTINATION. You may choose to hunt either location. 

If you choose the second location, please be sure to bring back your finds to the owner.

MAY

7      Gateway Club meeting. 7 pm. Doors open 6:30pm. 

11    Gateway Club monthly hunt. 8:30am-10:30am. St. Bernadette Catholic School ballfields, 68 Sherman Rd, St. Louis, MO 63125.

DO NOT PARK AT THE SCHOOL. There is a blacktop parking lot on the Sherman Rd. side of the ballfields. You cannot get to it from Sherman Rd. From Telegraph Rd turn onto Jefferson Barracks Rd. Continue on this road which becomes Sherman Rd. Follow Sherman Rd east to Randolph Rd. Turn Right onto Randolph, then Left on Kearney St. Follow Kearney east and make a Right on Sheridan Rd. You will see the Cornerstone Academy on your left. Just past the school on the left, there is a small driveway. Follow this driveway behind the school, then behind the church, the gym will be on your left and the blacktop parking area will be on your right just before you get to the locked gates leading to Sherman Rd. An alternative is parking on Randolph Place road which is the small road beside the museum where there is parking for our meetings, or Grover St which backs up to the ballfields. Then you can walk to the ballfields. FATHER BOB REQUESTS THAT WE RESPECT THE GROUNDS AND HUNT NOWHERE ELSE THAN THE BALLFIELDS. Also that we leave our dug holes looking good as the Athletic Assn maintains the fields.  DO NOT DIG THE INNER GROUND BETWEEN BASES! Please wear your club shirt so Father Bob knows who we are. FATHER BOB ASKS THAT IF WE DIG UP A TREASURE CHEST OF GOLD, THAT YOU THINK CHARITABLE THOUGHTS ABOUT SHARING. 😄

JUNE

4     Gateway Club meeting. 7 pm. Doors open 6:30pmFor this meeting we are meeting back in the theater room in the museum. Please use the front door unless you are handicapped (handicap entrance is at the rear).     CANCELLED DUE TO WEATHER.

AUGUST

6     Gateway Club meeting. 7 pm. Doors open 6:30pm. 

10    Gateway Club monthly hunt. 8:30am-10:30am. If you wish to hunt longer, you can unofficially. Tower Tee Golf, 6727 Heege Rd, 63123. All 25 acres are now open to be detected.

SEPTEMBER

3      Gateway Club meeting. 7 pm. Doors open 6:30pm. Last chance for BBQ registration. $10 person/ children 11 and under FREE.

Presentation by Lee Nunnally on antique and toy irons.

7      Gateway Club Family BBQ/Games10am-2pm for BBQ, 2pm-8pm the park can be hunted. $10 per person, children 11 and under are free. Kircher Park, 45 Williams Rd., Eureka, MO 63025. Pavilion has electricity if you need it. Bring a power strip in case others are also wanting to use it. YOU MUST REGISTER YOURSELF, FAMILY, AND FRIENDS FOR THIS EVENT BY THE SEPTEMBER MEETING. MONEY IS DUE AT TIME OF REGISTRATION.  Registration and payment begins at the August meeting. Please bring a side dish–a sign up list will be on the INFO table at each meeting.

OCTOBER

9     Gateway Club monthly hunt. 9am-12. Rellecke Pumpkin Patch, 473 Sand Prairie Rd, Pontoon Beach, IL 62040.  Owner requests we do not hunt before the starting time. Any field that is planted, and the house and fenced yard, are off limits Workers will be tearing down and storing items. Please be careful in their vicinity.                                                     

DECEMBER

3      CHRISTMAS PARTY! 7 pm. Doors open 6:30pm.
