Found by Bill S. : “Found this neat 1950’s era beer bottle opener at Saturday’s club hunt. Reisch Brewing Co. Springfield, Illinois (1849-1966) manufactured by Vaughan Mfg. Co. Chicago, IL . Found with White’s TreasurePro at 4 inches deep.”

Found by Kathy H. : “Found at Saturday’s club hunt. This could very well have been a fire bucket. They had round bottoms so people didn’t use them for other things. If this one only had a bottom….
Tom R. helped me dig it up.  I thought it was a car part…a running joke with us. 😊”

The reverse reads: Good Luck, Manufactured by the Excelsior Shoe Co, Portsmouth O(hio). Excelsior Shoe Company designed shoes for the Boy Scouts (which was formed in the US the same year) and used the tokens as advertising. Prior to Nazi Germany, swastikas were a good luck symbol.”

The bucket looks like a beer bucket, used during prohibition. My Grandmother had several in her basement.
